PARCC Changes for the 2015-16 School Year
Superintendent's Department
Illinois The Illinois State Board of Education announced changes with PARCC (Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers) for the upcoming 2015-16 school year.

The English language arts and math sessions will be condensed to one session instead of two, the number of test units will decrease to six or seven from eight or nine, and testing time will be reduced for most students by 90 minutes.

Please Slow Down, Be Careful
Superintendent's Department
News Photo We continue to ask all residents to please be careful when driving around the schools.
Many of our students are out and about on foot, walking to and from school in the good weather. Please be aware of pedestrian traffic.
Car traffic increases so please be alert around the schools as students are dropped off for class or early activities. Please review approved drop-off areas around the schools, especially at Highland Middle School where the drop-off procedure and a map can be found on the school website.
Please pay attention to signage at the schools related to parking, no cell phone use in a school zone, no U-turns and please have students exit the car on the curb side so they do not cross lanes of traffic.
We all need to work together to keep our children safe. (Dated photo on Milwaukee Avenue from 1966, the Chicago Tribune.)
