Legal DisclaimerThe list of private instructors below is merely for the information and convenience of District 70 students and parents. These instructors have no affiliation or connection with the District. Inclusion of an instructor on this list does not constitute an endorsement or approval by the District of any instructor, product or service to the exclusion of others that may be suitable. Additionally, please note that Illinois law does not require the District to perform criminal background checks for these instructors because the District has no affiliation or contractual relationship with the instructors. If you have any questions regarding the instructors on this list, please contact them directly. Thank you. OverviewPrivate Lessons are one-on-one instruction with a professional musician on a specific instrument. Many students enjoy how these lessons are custom-tailored to their strengths, weaknesses, and interests. Some students take private lessons as a way to help them with the material covered in the District 70 Band Curriculum, but most students who take private lessons do so as a way to augment what they are learning in band classes. In general, students who take private lessons develop a stronger sense of self-confidence on their instrument than they would otherwise. They also tend to have a stronger tone quality and wider range (high-low). It is often the case that those students who rise to leadership roles in the band program at Highland, high school, and beyond, are those students who are taking private lessons. Some Notes About
