District 70 School Board Letter to Community About Meeting 4.15.20

The letter is in English and Spanish.

The April 27, 2020, Board of Education Meeting will be held remotely. A recording of the meeting will be posted on the website within 48 hours after the meeting. 

To make a comment at the public school board meeting, you may elect to: 

  • Se​​nd an email to publiccomment@d70schools.org.  Emails sent to this address, which meet the requirements of Board Policy 2:230, will be read at the meeting.
  • Send a voice message to (847) 461-9418.  Messages, which meet the respect and civility requirement of Board Policy 2:230, will be played at the meeting. However, due to the space limitations of District 70’s current phone system, voice messages will have a maximum of three (3) minutes allowed.
  • We ask that all emails and voice messages be received by no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 27, 2020, in order to be included at the April 27 school board meeting. Any email or voice messages received after 5:00 p.m. on April 27 will be added to the May 18, 2020, school board meeting.

A letter from Supt. Dr. Matt Barbini working together to stop the spread of COVID-19 by closing all Libertyville District 70 schools beginning to March 16, to approximately April 6, 2020. 

Schools closed include Alder Park, Butterfield, Copeland Manor, Highland Middle, and Rockland. Champions child care also is closed.

La prioridad principal del distrito 70 continúa siendo la salud y la seguridad de nuestros estudiantes y empleados al estar monitoreando el cambio rápido en el progreso del Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19).

 

A pesar de que no hay casos de COVID-19 en el distrito 70, tomaremos todas las medidas de precaución, así que todas las actividades extracurriculares matutinas y vespertinas se pospondrán comenzando hoy en la tarde (12 de marzo) y en el futuro cercano. Estas actividades incluyen conciertos escolares, presentaciones del coro, musicales de primavera, prácticas de deportes, competencias y juegos, festivales de banda, prácticas de banda y orquesta, clubes extracurriculares, el Desayuno Pattycake en Rockland, el festival internacional de estudiantes del idioma inglés y salidas escolares.
