Board Policies

The volunteer members of Libertyville Elementary District 70 Board of Education meet monthly to set policy for the district and  work diligently to keep district programs and teachers on the cutting edge of education. Board members serve the District 70 community, the students and the staff.

Board Member Training

All Illinois Board of Education members must receive training in professional development leadership and the Open Meetings Act required by Section 1–15a of the School Code. (105IlCS5/10-16a (school Code), 50 ILCS 205/20 (Local Records Act) For additional information, see Board Policy 2:120, Board Member Development. 

All of District 70’s Board of Education members have completed the following trainings:

  • The Basics of Governance
  • Open Meetings Act (OMA) 
  • Professional Development Leadership Training (PDLT)
  • Performance Evaluation Reform Act (PERA) Training for School Board Members.
