Parent/Teacher Conferences
Teachers are looking forward to meeting with parents next week during conferences. Teachers will be sending individual Google Meet invites.  Please note, you MAY need to use your own Gmail account or your child's school login to join the Google Meet. If you try to join before your assigned time, please know you may need to wait for your child's teacher to allow you into the meeting.

Traffic Safety Reminders

In order to maximize safety (and expediency) during school arrivals and dismissal, please follow these practices:

  • Maintain a one-way -- SOUTHERN -- traffic pattern on 7th Avenue.  This is true throughout the year, but very important when there are snow banks that make a narrow street even narrower.

  • Never pass a school bus with its red STOP arm extended

  • Do not use the staff parking lot for student drop off or pick up (unless you are dropping off or picking up from the eSchool Center)

  • Pull forward as far as possible around the front circle when dropping off at the front door after 8:05 am to allow the line to move forward off 7th Avenue -- make sure students are ready to exit the car quickly (backpacks in hand)

  • Only turn right out of the circle drive and travel SOUTH on 7th toward Valley Park.

  • Never park in or block a yellow cross walk and yield to pedestrians

  • Never call a student to your car in front of other cars (to a double-parked car)

  • Remain cautious during dismissal -- students should never dart across the circle drive and lanes of traffic

  • Students should not play in the grassy area in the circle drive at dismissal

5Essentials Survey

All D70 parents/guardians are invited to complete the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) 5Essentials Survey to share your thoughts and impressions regarding the school(s) your child(ren) are enrolled in before the survey closes on April 2, 2021.

Your voice is important and can be heard through this survey. Results of your feedback will be shared with the schools in a special report if at least 20 percent of parents at each school take the survey.

Parents who have more than one child who attends the same school may elect to participate multiple times. We recommend that parents who have children enrolled in multiple schools participate in the survey for each school. Only one parent per household may participate in the survey.
