February Paw Prints - 2-5-2021
Teachers are looking forward to meeting with parents next week during conferences. Teachers will be sending individual Google Meet invites. Please note, you MAY need to use your own Gmail account or your child's school login to join the Google Meet. If you try to join before your assigned time, please know you may need to wait for your child's teacher to allow you into the meeting.
Extra Instructional Time to Begin February 16th
As D70 continues to examine opportunities to add instructional time to the school day, each elementary school will be adding 15 minutes of instruction to each AM and PM session. Our new schedule will be as follows -- please note the change in times. Lakeside Transportation will make the appropriate time changes as well. Students who ride the bus to school in the afternoon should plan to be at the stop 15 minutes earlier starting February 16th.
Arrival: 8:05 - 8:15
Important Dates/Upcoming Events
February 5 -- PTC Wizard link closes **On February 26th and May 28th, we will have a Late Start schedule for all K-5 students. On these dates AM students will not come into school and PM students will come in for their scheduled in-person learning time in the afternoon. A more detailed schedule will be communicated as the date draws closer.
Traffic Safety Reminders
In order to maximize safety (and expediency) during school arrivals and dismissal, please follow these practices:
All D70 parents/guardians are invited to complete the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) 5Essentials Survey to share your thoughts and impressions regarding the school(s) your child(ren) are enrolled in before the survey closes on April 2, 2021.
Your voice is important and can be heard through this survey. Results of your feedback will be shared with the schools in a special report if at least 20 percent of parents at each school take the survey.
Parents who have more than one child who attends the same school may elect to participate multiple times. We recommend that parents who have children enrolled in multiple schools participate in the survey for each school. Only one parent per household may participate in the survey.
Crossing Guards Needed
The Libertyville Police Department is looking to hire crossing guards for Libertyville District 70 schools.
