Kindergarten Screenings
ABC

Kindergarten screenings are held at a student's home school. Screenings can be arranged by calling the school office on Aug. 1, when office staff returns.

Screenings are performed by kindergarten teachers and give students and parents a chance to see the classrooms and meet the teachers. The screenings help teachers create balanced, equal classrooms by reviewing academic knowledge (letters, numbers, colors, sorting, reading simple words, etc.), observing behavior and parents have an opportunity to share info about their child that they want teachers to know.

The kindergarten screening is different from preschool screenings which are used to help parents determine how children are progressing in preschool and if they need extra support in an area.
