Welcome to Fifth Grade!
Hi! I am Katlyn Deal and I am very excited to be your child’s teacher this year. This will be my eleventh year teaching, and my eighth year at Butterfield. A little bit more about me; I graduated with an undergrad degree from Augustana College, with a degree in General Education. I recently completed my Master's Degree in educational technology at Concordia University. My family is originally from Grayslake, IL. so I love being able to work so close to where I grew up.
I am a very strong believer in building a community within the classroom. As a parent, you play a significant role in the education of your child. I would like to invite all of you to continue this throughout the year. There will be various opportunities for you to join us within the classroom, as well as chances to contribute from home. I look forward to working together with each and every one of you in order to best support your children this year.
